Composition

Touch button control panel for pre set lighting scenes

Timeclocks - to ensure lights are only operated when required

Motion Detectors – maintain standby levels of lighting in low traffic areas and automatically adjust when movement is sensed.

PE sensors - to “harvest” available natural light and alter supplementary light levels to maximize power savings.

LCD Touchscreen – operates in a similar way to the conventional control panel or key pad. In response to to end user commands, the unit will broadcast messages across the network.

PC or Laptop – is used to set up and configure a Dynet network using the DLight application software

Technical Properties

The Dynalite system utilizes a distributed processing architecture, where a range of devices are interconnected over an RS485 network to form a complete control solution. Command and status information passes to all devices over this network using the event based DyNet protocol.

Dynalite control devices incorporate an integral microprocessor and non-volatile memory. All configuration data required by each device to operate is stored within the non-volatile memory of the device.

DLight, Dynalite’s commissioning, monitoring and control software, is used to modify configuration registers within each device.

Installation and Maintenance Summary

Devices on the Dynalite network are designed for indoor use only. If installing in an external location, the dimmer must be housed in a suitable well-ventilated enclosure. Choose a dry location that will be accessible after the installation is complete.

To ensure the cooling system functions correctly, the dimmer should only be mounted vertically, the right way up. The dimmer will generate heat when operating approximately 2 Watts per Amp of load, and requires an air gap of 200mm on each side and at the top and bottom of the device. This air gap is also required to ensure serviceability of the dimmer without complete removal from the mounting surface.

Green Star NZ Credit Contribution Guidance
Please note the information below provides an indication of 'potential points' under Green Star Office Design V.1. Green Star NZ points are weighted by the environmental significance of the category they are in. Each point contributes to the total overall score of the project but are not absolute. For further understanding of the Green Star rating tools, Greenbuild strongly recommends that users attend an 'Introduction to Green Star' seminar. More information is available at the New Zealand Green Building Council website.

Greenbuild has reviewed this product’s performance in the light of the Green Star NZ technical manuals. The use of this product may achieve desired outcomes in the credit categories mentioned below. Greenbuild stresses that this information is presented as guidance only. Final approval will be given by Green Star assessors on a project basis.

ENE -6

One point is awarded where it can be demonstrated that:
-all individual or enclosed spaces have individual switches;
-the size of individually switched lighting zones does not exceed 100m2 for 95% of the NLA; and
-switching is clearly labelled and easily accessible by building occupants or an automated occupant sensing system is installed.

This product has the potential to satisfy all these requirements and can achieve lighting zones of less than 100m2. Please ensure you follow the guidance in the Green Star technical manual, consult with your Green Star accredited professional and the product manufacturer at all times during the project.
