Monier Clay Bricks are generally used as a cladding for residential and commercial buildings. They can also be used for ancillary items such as fences, letter boxes and BBQ’s. Monier Bricks use a cavity system of brick veneer which is a proven method of controlling moisture in a building. Monier also has BRANZ appraisal for its ABC Two Storey system which allows people to design two storey brick buildings with confidence.
Monier Clay Bricks are made in New Zealand which means New Zealand colours that work well in the NZ environment. Using Monier Clay Bricks results in a building that: - Is warmer in winter and cooler in summer due to thermal mass - Is low maintenance which results in lower environmental costs over the life cycle of the building - Is less noisy - Is extremely cost effective - Means peace of mind to builder and home owner - Has a 50 year cladding warranty - Better for the environment due to bricks being reusable and recyclable
Monier Clay Bricks are made from clay sourced within New Zealand. Other additives are water and lime. Grey bricks from the Monier range have Manganese Oxide added to them.
Monier Clay Bricks have a 50 year warranty; however clay brick buildings are still standing some 5000 years after construction. They add to noise reduction and will not burn, fade, rot or rust. Monier Clay bricks are manufactured to the relevant New Zealand standards and utilise the BRANZ report and appraisal system. Crushing strength is 20 – 45MPa Bonding strength is 200kPa
Installation should only be by a Registered Master Bricklayer. As Monier Clay Bricks are relatively maintenance free - they only require occasional cleaning to maximise their beauty
