Palliside

Palliside weatherboards are a solid, smart looking cladding which provides the natural shadowlines and definition of timber weatherboards with a low maintenance finish. This ensures the product will keep on looking good without the continual maintenance often associated with weatherboards. The product has a BRANZ appraisal for either direct fix or drained cavity. It is available in three profiles. Traditional (Bevelback), Rusticated or Rusticated Woodgrain. It is available in five colours. The system includes a full range of colourmatched accessories. The Palliside Weatherboard System meets the requirements of the NZ building code as an alternative solution.

Application/Purpose

Palliside weatherboards can be either direct fixed (up to a risk matrix of 12) or installed over a drained cavity. The product is suitable for use any where in New Zealand, including Geothermal or Coastal environments or high wind zones. It is suitable for specification on residential or commercial projects.

Composition

Palliside is manufactured from specially formulated uPVC. The foamed cellular core coupled with the top coat form a lightweight yet durable cladding material. The outer layer provides additional impact and scratch resistance as well as excellent Ultra-Violet protection.

Technical Properties

Ultra-Violet Resistance – Palliside is manufactured to NZ and has excellent ultraviolet resistance. The product is guaranteed for 25 years.

The product is impervious to moisture so will not rot or breakdown while the anti-capilliary groove and interlocking nature of the design prevents moisture getting behind the weatherboards.

Palliside does not support spread of flame. It shrinks, melts and flows away from heat source.. Palliside is self-extinguishing and ceases to burn upon removal of the heat source.

Palliside is suitable for use in Coastal, Seaspray, or Geothermal zones.

Palliside has been tested to and meets the requirements of AS2921 appendix B for soft body inpacts, (250J between studs) and meets the hard body impact requirements of 44J.

Palliside is defined as a lightweight wall cladding in accordance with NZS3604:1999.

The palliside weatherboard system meets the requirements of the NZBC as an alternative solution.

Installation and Maintenance Summary

Palliside is quick to install, reducing installation costs on site. All accessories and components necessary to install the cladding are supplied with the system. It can be installed onto a drained cavity (risk matrix 0-20) or direct fixed (risk matrix up to 12).

Palliside is a low maintenance cladding system. It requires only an occasional washdown. The manufacturers warranty is not subject to or dependent on any maintenance requirements.
