GIB Ultraline® PLUS Lining System

The GIB Ultraline® PLUS Lining System has been specifically designed and tested to enhance New Zealand homes. The system is a complete lining system specification of GIB® ‘s best practice materials, systems and installation practices. In addition to a high quality interior finish, it can also provide extra performance such as noise control, bracing and even fire rated protection for the home. This can be achieved while using only the one plasterboard product, 13mm GIB Ultraline® PLUS, on walls and ceilings. Winstone Wallboards Limited has received Environmental Choice certification for GIB® plasterboards 13mm or greater in thickness.

Application/Purpose

The performance characteristics of the GIB Ultraline® PLUS Lining System make it ideally suited for high end residential homes, as well as multi unit and non residential applications where a high quality finish is desired. The GIB Ultraline® PLUS Lining System is suitable for timber frame, steel frame or use with concrete and masonry systems. The unique Pearlcoat ™ coated paper is used on all 13mm GIB Ultraline® PLUS plasterboard, which helps achieve a uniform paint finish and helps minimize joint visibility. 13mm GIB Ultraline® PLUS is available in a range of sheet sizes that aids horizontal fixing and minimizes the number of joints.

Benefits/Advantages

The GIB Ultraline® PLUS Lining System aims to deliver a higher quality finish than lining your home with standard 10mm GIB® plasterboard. This can be achieved for an additional investment that represents just a fraction of the total outlay in a top home. As well as being thicker than standard 10mm GIB® plasterboard, the density of 13mm GIB Ultraline® PLUS has been increased and special fiberglass reinforcing added. This delivers a much more rigid and flatter surface as well as a more durable, solid and secure feel throughout the home.

Composition

GIB Ultraline® PLUS is made up of naturally occurring gypsum, 100% recycled paper, and a small quantity of other ingredients (which includes approved glues and additives required to improve the quality of the finished board). Gypsum or, to use its scientific name, calcium sulphate dihydrate (CaSO4.2H2O) is a naturally occurring mineral and most deposits are considered to be precipitates formed during the evaporation of sea waters saturated with soluble salts.
