Application/Purpose

Timber flooring.

Suitable to lay over joists or solid substrates including concrete, particle board and plywood.

Suitable for office, retail, commercial or residential applications.

Benefits/Advantages

A real timber floor, made from real timber, with character from yester-year.

Real timber – yet no trees harvested to make this flooring and it is from pre-consumed timber.

Re-machined or refurnished so that it lays nicely.

A truly authentic timber floor.

Supplied by a professional company, to specification, on time – no longer do you have to do the ‘demolition yard’ dance when looking for recycled timber products.

Initial verification has taken place and supporting evidence provided on purchase demonstrating timber as being from post-consumer recycled materials so will meet the criteria of the NZGBC and qualify for points towards your Green Star NZ rating.

Composition

Native timber (for example NZ Matai and Rimu) and imported timber (for example Australian hardwoods like Jarrah).

Installation and Maintenance Summary

We can also provide installation and finishing services.

Timber is hydroscopic so needs to be acclimatised to its environment before installation.

Glue or nail to joists or solid substrate.

When installed it can be mopped with water or polished.

A real timber floor can be re-sanded several times to rejuvenate it and remove minor damage.

Green Star NZ Credit Approval
Please note the information below provides an indication of 'potential points' under Green Star Office Design V.1. Green Star NZ points are weighted by the environmental significance of the category they are in. Each point contributes to the total overall score of the project but are not absolute. For further understanding of the Green Star rating tools, Greenbuild strongly recommends that users attend an 'Introduction to Green Star' seminar. More information is available at the New Zealand Green Building Council website.

Greenbuild has reviewed this product and confirms its potential contribution to points under the following credit categories:

Mat-8Two points are awarded where it is demonstrated that all timber and composite timber products used in the building and construction works are required to be sourced from either or a combination of the following: • Post-consumer re-used timber; or • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Timber. Locally sourced timber should be used unless there is demonstrable benefits from importing. If the material cost of timber represents less than 0.1% to the project’s total contract value then this credit is ‘Not Applicable’
