The cells provide an insulation barrier that reduces the exchange of heat in the summer and winter. The double- walled honeycomb structure makes the fabric extremely strong, durable and flexible. Duette® Shades can be made in an almost infinite variety of shapes, including operating arches, and can operate in almost every direction. They are truly the most versatile of window covering solutions.
Duette® Shades can be used in almost any shaped window, such as arch, triangular, sloping top and sloping bottom. Applications where heat and cold are of concern Duette® Shades keep rooms warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Duette® Shades are ideal in board rooms where block out fabrics can be supplied and are also great in apartments, bathrooms and ground floor installations where the entry of natural light is required coupled with the need for complete privacy.
The distinctive honeycomb of Duette® Fabric traps air in the cells creating air pockets that act as an insulator. A white heat reflective fabric is used on the external face (window side) of the cell structure to reflect solar heat and aid the insulation process. Automated Duette® Shades can be connected to building management systems for optimal control of air conditioning loads and comfort of the building occupants.
The honeycomb cell material of Duette® Shades is made from an anti- static 100% spun- bonded polyester yarn. 10mm Nightfall and 20mm Midnight fabrics also contain a metallised film core.
