Firth Designer Concrete™ essentially means concrete with colour, patterns, aggregate finishes and incorporating bricks and pavers. A growing appreciation of texture and colour means that concrete no longer needs to be just a standard grey option. With Designer Concrete™, Firth makes possible a wide range of colours and surface finishes to achieve a variety of looks for interiors, exteriors and section development.

Firth Designer Concrete™ can be used indoors, for floors, feature walls, fireplaces, shelving and benchtops to achieve unique looks. There is a broad range of choices for patterned, coloured or exposed aggregate finishes. Outside there are unlimited options for driveways, paths and landscape features. Coloured aggregates create an attractive and naturally textured look that can be emphasised further by exposing the aggregate for an attractive, non-skid finish. Adding natural oxide colours to large concrete areas can soften the effect in a garden or bush setting. Or choose a contrasting colour to complement the architecture of the home.

Exposed Aggregate is achieved by washing away the top layer of cement to leave the surface layer of aggregate exposed (controlled conditions safely collect the washings). Throughout New Zealand Firth has differing Pebble Mixes that create different looks for concrete. Adding coloured oxides creates Coloured Concrete. These can further enhance the colours of the aggregates already used by Firth. Natural oxides increase the variety of looks that are possible with concrete. Combining coloured concrete with the range of Pebble Mixes creates many different options for paths and driveways. Honing interior floors can further accentuate the look.
Firth Designer Concrete™ supplied for residential purposes is available as 17.5 MPa, 20 MPa or 25 MPa depending on the strength needed for the specific application involved.
Firth Designer Concrete™ is an inert material comprising aggregates, sand, cement, water and colourants. Aggregates and sand are sourced close to manufacturing locations. Cement is New Zealand made. No toxic preservatives required for preventing rot. Firth is committed to sustainability in concrete manufacture and distribution, including the recycling of surplus raw materials, water and leftover concrete.
