JSC Timber Western Red Cedar weatherboards to manufacturer’s profile and to NZS 3617 or BRANZ Bulletin 411, grading to NZS 3631, species and durability to NZS 3602, table 2, reference 2A.1. Requirements for wood-based building components to achieve a 15-year durability performance. Weatherboards in long lengths to suit specific weatherboard type and construction method. Acceptable Solution is limited to the following types of Weatherboards: - Horizontal bevel back - Horizontal rebated bevel back - Horizontal rusticated - Vertical shiplap - Vertical board and batten JSC Timber also supplies Western Red Cedar for Roofing Shingles, Panelling, Mouldings, and Decking.
Appearance, durability, insulation value and dimensional stability are Western Red Cedars primary advantages as an exterior cladding. Available in a wide range of standard and Architectural profiles, it is suitable for any variety of Architecture and is versatile enough to be used in residential, commercial and industrial structures. Western Red Cedar is easily machined; as a result Architectural profiles are often produced to meet the exact specification of an Architect.
Unfinished cedar has richly textured grain with colours ranging from mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons and rich sienna browns. Its warm colouring is complimented by a uniform, fine-grained texture with a satin luster. JSC Timber specifically developed the Cedar Shield system to responsibly manage and increase the performance of Western Red Cedar against the harsh New Zealand environment. The JSC Cedar Shield In-line factory coating penetrates, to protect and enhance the colour and natural characteristics of cedar. It insures a consistent application for improved appearance and increased finish life and durability. It’s available in a wide range of environmentally popular timber colours.
