American Clay Earth Plasters

American Clay Earth Plaster is an interior veneer plaster system that is designed as a practical and environmentally friendly alternative to cement, gypsum and lime based plasters and paints. American Clay is available in over 40 standard colours, with 3 types of finish from the super smooth Porcelina to the more rustic Marittimo and the beautiful Loma in between. American Clay is an entire interior finish system including primers, coloured clay plaster and sealers.

Application / Purpose for Use
AC is a colour intergrated solid interior plaster applied by hand, Trowelled on in 2 veneer coats. With a base coat of Loma and a finish coat of either Porcelina, Loma or Marittimo. AC is designed for interior walls and ceilings in residential homes and commercial office spaces.

Composition
AC is made of 3 types of clay, marble flour and aggregates, natural pigments and mould inhibitors.

Benefits
Clay plaster has many benefits over paint, It will absord moisture from the environment when humidity is high and relaese as the air in the home becomes more arid. AC contains no VOC’s, AC is 100% natural and non toxic. AC takes very little energy to produce, has no site waste as any left over plaster can be rehydrated and reused. AC is made from up to 80% recycled materials, It is beautiful to touch and asthetically pleasing.

Installation and Maintenance
AC is installed by registered applicators and easily maintained by the home owner, with most marks and staind removed with a damp sponge. Any damaged walls can be repaired and patched easily.

Technical Pproperties
AC absorbs sound, AC is totally non flammable, AC cures to a hard and durable surface. AC will not fade in UV light as all pigments are natural and intergrated throuhgout both coats of plaster. AC will absorb and release moisture as the environment produces or removes it, leaving walls warm to touch in the winter and surprisingly cool to touch in the summer. This process is called latent heat flux, where the clay warms up on taking moisture from a cold wet environment and cools down when releaing it back into a hot dry environment. AC is designed as a veneer plaster and has no structural capacity but is compressed into a durable wall finish.

Additional products that complete the system are:
AC Sanded Primer is a bonding primer that contains a marble aggregate the creates a tooth for the base coat of Loma to adhere to.

Application / Purpose for Use
AC Sanded Primer is applied by brush and roller, and is designed to give Tooth or Key for the base coat of clay plaster.

AC Sealers are designed to enhance the lusture of the plasters, giving them additional water resistance and sheen.

Application / Purpose for Use
AC Sealers are sprayed on with airless sprayer or trowled on by hand.

Composition
The sealers are soy based and contain no VOCs.

Benefits
AC Sealers will give additional water resistance to the plasters, also when applied in several coats the gloss sealer will provide a lusture and sheen.

Sprayed or Trowelled on to walls.
