Resene SpaceCote Flat (inc. Fly Deterrent) - Waterborne Enamel Paint - Interior - Waterborne

Resene SpaceCote Flat is designed to bring enamel style toughness to broadwall areas, allowing you to get a desirable flat finish without sacrificing durability. Very adaptable, it can also be used on interior wet areas and joinery and trim, both inside and out.

Resene SpaceCote Flat also comes in a Fly Deterrent variant. Resene SpaceCote Flat Fly Deterrent combines all the benefits and performance of Resene SpaceCote with the added bonus of fly deterrent. Extensive testing by an accredited laboratory has shown significant reductions in fly spots compared to standard paint systems.

Application/Purpose

Typical uses:

Application:
Apply by brush, speed brush, synthetic fibre roller (Resene No.1) or spray. Thin with up to 5% Resene Hot Weather Additive in hot, dry conditions to slow drying. See Resene Data Sheet D314 and product label for full details.

Limitations:
1. Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C or when it is liable to drop below 10°C during the drying period.
2. Ensure the correct primers and/or sealers are used.
3. Due to waxes used in particle and fibreboard it is essential that Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat (see Resene Data Sheet D45) is used as the first coat on these substrates.
4. Although serviceable within 12-48 hours, full print and solvent resistance takes 30 days to develop.

Unwanted paint and paint containers can be returned to the Resene PaintWise paint and paint packaging recovery programme. Returns are donated to community groups, sent to solvent recovery, packaging is recycled and other paint goes into covering graffiti and research on alternative uses. See link to Resene PaintWise.

Installation and Maintenance Summary

Maintenance: Avoid cleaning the paint finish until at least four weeks after application time to ensure it has had sufficient time to fully develop its properties. IEQ-13	Up to three points are awarded where it is demonstrated that various finishes meet the benchmarks for low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content. One point is awarded for each criterion below that is achieved: • 95% of all painted surfaces are low-VOC paints OR no paint is used; • All carpets are low-VOC OR no carpet is installed; and/or • All adhesives and sealants are low-VOC OR no adhesives/sealants are used.
Mat-10	One point is awarded where it can be demonstrated that 90% or more of the paints used are independently certified as having lower environmental impact than standard paints, as verified through a materials certification body recognised by the NZGBC (e.g. NZ Environmental Choice).
