Resene Zylone Sheen VOC Free is a waterborne, low sheen, interior decorative topcoat that combines the popular features of Resene Zylone Sheen without unwanted volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Resene Zylone Sheen is the result of advanced technology that produces a smooth yet ultra tough surface. Its ease of application, washability and durability make it an ideal choice for interior use. Not suitable for use in Wet Areas – use Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen or Resene Lustacryl (semi-gloss) waterborne enamels.

Application/Purpose

Typical uses:
• Block and brickwork
• Concrete and plaster
• Fibre and particle board
• Fibre cement

Application:
Resene Zylone VOC Free may be applied by brush, speed brush, synthetic fibre roller (Resene No.1) or spray. Thin with up to 5% Resene Hot Weather Additive in hot, dry conditions to slow drying. See Resene Data Sheet D302 and product label for full details.

Limitations:
1. Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C or when it is liable to drop below 10°C during the drying period.
2. Not recommended for use in bathrooms, kitchens or laundries - use Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen (see Resene Data Sheet D311).
3. Washability improves over several days as the paint hardens.
4. Will not penetrate chalky and powdery surfaces.
5. Not normally used on opening sashes and doors - use Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen (see Resene Data Sheet D311).

Resene Zylone Sheen VOC Free combines the popular features of Resene Zylone Sheen without unwanted volatile organic compounds. Low VOC paints are less harmful to human and environmental health. Reduced toxins benefit everyone including those with allergies and chemical sensitivities and Reduces landfill, groundwater and ozone depleting contaminants

Unwanted paint and paint containers can be returned to the Resene PaintWise paint and paint packaging recovery programme. Returns are donated to community groups, sent to solvent recovery, packaging is recycled and other paint goes into covering graffiti and research on alternative uses. See link to Resene PaintWise.

Installation and Maintenance Summary

Resene products are guaranteed to provide film integrity and adhesion for the expected life of the paint system. See the link for a full copy of the Resene Promise of quality, which includes details of the expected paint system life.

Maintenance: Avoid cleaning the paint finish until at least four weeks after application time to ensure it has had sufficient time to fully develop its properties. IEQ-13	Up to three points are awarded where it is demonstrated that various finishes meet the benchmarks for low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content. One point is awarded for each criterion below that is achieved: • 95% of all painted surfaces are low-VOC paints OR no paint is used; • All carpets are low-VOC OR no carpet is installed; and/or • All adhesives and sealants are low-VOC OR no adhesives/sealants are used.
Mat-10	One point is awarded where it can be demonstrated that 90% or more of the paints used are independently certified as having lower environmental impact than standard paints, as verified through a materials certification body recognised by the NZGBC (e.g. NZ Environmental Choice).
