Work is in progress and results will be published shortly.Firth Certified Concrete® is New Zealand’s largest producer of ready-mix concrete. Firth has more than 60 plants throughout New Zealand and an extensive fleet of trucks and concrete pumps. Firth Certified Concrete® is able to supply poured or pumped concrete to virtually any site, from small projects requiring a few cubic metres right through to meeting the concrete requirements of New Zealand’s largest projects.

Firth Certified Concrete® is used for many different types of projects: residential, retail, commercial, industrial and civil. If it can be done with concrete, Firth will have the solution. Where sites access is not possible for a ready-mix concrete truck, or where the concrete is to be elevated, the Certified Concrete® can be pumped. Firth can provide standard mix designs for pumping applications or specifically designed mixes for particular needs. A range of aggregate sizes (10mm, 13mm, 19mm and 40mm) and strengths (20MPa to 50MPa) is available depending on the pump type and intended use of the concrete.

Firth Certified Concrete® is an inert material comprising aggregates, sand, cement and water. Aggregates and sand are sourced close to manufacturing locations. Cement is New Zealand made. No toxic preservatives are required for preventing rot. Firth is committed to sustainability in concrete manufacture and distribution, including the recycling of surplus raw materials, water and leftover concrete. More far reaching benefits include significant energy savings achieved through the thermal mass properties and outstanding durability of concrete.
Certified Concrete® supplied for residential applications is usually 17.5 MPa or 20 MPa and that supplied for commercial construction is at least 25 MPa. Demand is increasing for concrete exceeding 30MPa to meet the requirements of highly engineered buildings. Firth is able to respond to the changing needs of commercial construction, in particular meeting growing demand for high-strength concrete with high slump values. For civil projects Firth is able to meet extremely demanding specifications, for example: significantly higher concrete strengths, extended design lives, adverse situations, extreme durability, special workability, strict slump control, large pumping distances, critical timing and continuous pours.
Installation should be in accordance with NZS 3109 or technical specification.
