For a wall application it is a through fixed system which can be laid either vertically or horizontally. Kingspan panels are a composite panel made of steel faced skins bonded to a PIR (poly-isocyanurate) core during the manufacturing process. PIR is a thermosetting foam plastic material that offers superior thermal performance and fire resistance. PIR insulated panels and insulation board products are well established in the UK/Europe as the market leader in insulation material. PIR insulated panels are CFC/HCFC free, and have a very low embodied energy (energy required to manufacture the panels is typically between 1-3% of the energy saved over the lifetime of the building)

Regular maintenance is essential for Kingspan panels to maximize the serviceable life of the system. An inspection should be undertaken at least annually to determine the condition of the whole building (depending on environment).
